So that's what I chased.
I bought more leads.
I ran more ads.
I tried every marketing trick I saw somebody post online.
And it worked, honestly. My phone rang more. I was busier than I'd ever been — booked out, running jobs damn near every day, dead tired every night.
But at the end of the month, I'd sit down with the numbers and the money still wasn't there. More leads. More jobs. More work. Same bank account. And I couldn't figure out why for the longest time.
Then one day it finally hit me.
The leads were never the problem. It was everything that happened after the lead came in. I was guessing on price. Winging every sales call. Running every job like it was my first one.
I didn't have a lead problem.
I had a system problem.
